If you ping people (middle mouse) (which makes them a red dot on the minimap) and LOS is broken, their location is still revealed on the minimap for about 3 seconds after LOS is broken.
This means you can follow and track their movements on the minimap and predict where they will go, i.e. if you ping somebody going into the secret shop you can look at the minimap and see if they are buying items, going down to the underground or trying to leave.
