I do not have a match ID but this problem is easily replicable, and I expect the root cause of the issues many players complain about such as “Bluetooth punches” and abilities having broken hitboxes.
The reason this is happening is because when players dodge, their hitbox lingers at the area where they started dodging.
I call this bug pervasive because it appears to currently be happening with every ability hitbox check in the game, some are just way more noticeable because they are frequent abilities that you are supposed to be able to dodge and are annoying to get hit by (hook abilities, Geist bomb, grey talon arrow). Most people who complain about this are chalking it up to netcode, but I have almost 800 hours with the game at this point and have experienced this phenomenon extremely consistently while never having any noticeable ping related issues with gun hit registration.
With my layman knowledge of how games work my guess is that there is supposed to be some kind of handoff between the dodging hitbox and the standing hitbox where the standing hitbox gets cleaned up until it’s time for the character to stand again, and that handoff isn’t working correctly, meaning that the standing hitbox gets left at where the dodge started until the player goes back to standing somewhere else.
Please look at this issue before nerfing bebop again! (Fixing it is in fact a bebop nerf)
