Paradox Kinetic Carbine Self-Damage

I had a fight with a Mo & Krill in which my Kinetic Carbine damage seemed to reflect back to me, nuking me, seemingly with no explanation.
I'm not sure if I'm missing something in this interaction, but I've gone over it a few times and can't see a reason why.

+1 to this. Playing Paradox, tried to attack a McGinnis, but my shot just... ricochetted back to me. McGinnis had just left base, with no allies nearby, no item that could cause this... my shot just backfired.
