opening the settings causes the game crash

i mean i can play etc. but when i'm trying to open the settings it causes the game crash. What can i do?

My partner has the same issue. The game freezes when opening settings, but if you wait an absurdly long time (1-5 minutes) it unfreezes and settings open. This only happens the first time you open settings after launching the game.

I suspect this has something to do with skipping the processing of vulkan shaders before launching the game.
