Summary
Deadlock consistently causes a full GPU hang on my system. The screen goes black, the PC remains powered on (sometimes audio continues briefly), and the display never recovers. A hard reboot is required. Windows often does not log a crash or stop code.
This issue only occurs in Deadlock. Other GPU-intensive games run normally.
System
- GPU: RTX 3060 Ti
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X
- OS: Windows 11 (up to date)
- NVIDIA drivers: Clean installed via DDU
- XMP/overclocks: Disabled
- BIOS: Updated (AGESA refreshed)
Repro
- Occurs during normal gameplay, sometimes within minutes
- Happens consistently
- Requires forced restart every time
Troubleshooting Tried
- Multiple NVIDIA driver versions (clean installs)
- BIOS update + defaults
- XMP off, PBO off
- PCIe forced to Gen 3
- GPU power limited
- DX11
- Verified game files
None of these prevent the crash.
