Not sure if a bug / Sensitive ban system but got banned for leaving a single game out of ~700

I have played a total of 719 games, over 485hours in deadlock, and I have NEVER left or abandoned a single game at all, except when the game was already penalty free to abandon from other players leaving. I've also never been banned for anything before and I personally don't believe I've received many if not any reports against me. Today, my internet died during one of my games and I was not able to return, after an hour my internet came back up and I was prompted that I was temporarily banned for leaving.

Although it is only a few hours ban, isn't this kind of ridiculous? I'm not sure how this ban system works, if its an error in the system or if this is just the basic punishment for abandoning a single game, but isn't it kind of too sensitive to give this kind of ban for a single game abandoned? Are there no good behavior systems implemented yet that prevent these kinds of bans from happening if you have a good record? Again over 480+ hours and hundreds of hours played, and only a single game I unwillingly abandoned and I get a temp ban [albeit very short].

I hope in the future a good behavior system gets implemented or at least a warning system is implemented before throwing out bans. All I wanted to say.

Also can anyone verify if they've been temp banned like this from leaving a single game?

Assuming that you're telling the truth that this is your first time leaving (I doubt), it's just a couples hours. A "good behavior system" like you mentioned would just encourage good players that don't leave games to start leaving games, which causes the amount of leavers to increase. That's a bad thing. There should be very little tolerance for leaving games.

I disagree with a good behavior systems incentivizing bad player behavior. Although in theory you could abuse something like this and use it as a cushion before receiving punishments, players who get tagged as 'good' themselves are unlikely to act in this way, and it would mostly just be there to benefit of the doubt help with issues those players experience and not punish them as it would any other player.

Also yea it was short ban, I'm not really complaining too much about the length, just the fact that I got banned from my wifi disconnecting out of my control for the first time ever.

That's because they know and understand the punishment that they would receive for leaving. Once they're given an option to leave a game without any punishment (even if it's just one), they will take that option more often than not, which results in more ruined games than there would be if they got punished with a time penalty for leaving a match. People respond to incentives, whether you like to or not.
