Since the new update it seems like it's possible for heavy melees to hit through parries, ignoring them, if the parry is just before the melee. You now need to parry much more in advance giving a huge advantage to the player initiating the melee who can react to the parry by directing it away, a strategy that used to be "baiting the parry".
The reaction is now on the person doing a heavy melee rather than the person parrying. I suspect this isn't an intentional change but if it is I don't think it's a good choice and is a bit too in favour of melee builds especially considering how much damage they can deal.
