I had an idea for a Cthulhu Mythos-inspired hero.
[Abstract Info]
The hero, known as "Preyer," was a former pastor until they were cursed and used as a pawn in a sacrificial ceremony. Imbued with eldritch powers, they returned as a Cthulhu-like humanoid.
Preyer is relatively tall, standing somewhere between Bebop and Abrams, with facial features resembling a squid/octopus-human hybrid. They wear the vestments of a medieval pastor, covered by a brown trench coat.
Weapon:
Preyer fires 3-round bursts of black and red ink-like blotches from the squid-like tendrils protruding from their left arm, while holding a tome in their right hand.
Abilities:
1. **Webbing Veil**
- Spawns a webbed wall that allows players and creeps to pass through. Enemy players are slowed and briefly pinged on the mini-map when passing through it. Friendly players who pass through receive a small healing bonus and are hidden from the mini-map when their health is 30% or lower.
Tier 1: Duration is 5 seconds.
Tier 2: Duration is 7 seconds.
Tier 3: Duration is capped at 10 seconds. The width of the webbing (thickness) scales according to Spirit.
Cooldown between uses: 65s, 55s, 45s.
2. Eyes of Edith:
- Spawns a floating eye that automatically targets enemy players within range. A maximum of 1 eye can be spawned, with 3 total charges available. When an enemy is within range, the eyes apply an increasing cooldown timer to their abilities. If the player is out of range, the eyes begin to decay; the decay rate increases the further the player is away.
Tier 1: Radius of 20 meters, applies an 8-second increase to enemy ability cooldowns.
Tier 2: Radius of 25 meters, applies a 12-second increase.
Tier 3: Radius of 32 meters, applies a 15-second increase.
3. Runes of Argost: (Passive Ability)
- Shots fired by Preyer apply a rune to the target. If the target is within a certain distance of Preyer, the rune reduces their fire rate and the effective range of their weapon.
Tier 1: Fire rate reduced by 5%, weapon effective range reduced by 0.3 meters.
Tier 2: Fire rate reduced by 7%, weapon effective range reduced by 0.35 meters.
Tier 3: Fire rate reduced by 10%, weapon effective range reduced by 0.45 meters.
4. Calling of Khai'th: (Hero Ultimate)
- Preyer transforms into an eldritch monster. While in this form, attacks deal spirit damage and apply a life-steal bonus. The more damage Preyer receives while in this form, the greater the life-steal bonus becomes.
Tier 1: While at full health, with no damage received, your attacks deal a small percentage of spirit damage.
Tier 2: At 50% health and 30% damage received, your attacks deal an increased percentage of spirit damage, with a life-steal bonus applied.
Tier 3: At 40% or lower health and 50% damage received, your attacks deal a greater percentage of spirit damage, with the life-steal bonus doubled.
