while playing dynamo, I realized that bonus ammo mechanic is kinda weird and doesn't make much sense with "real" guns.
That's why I'd like to suggest a hero that has some type of a revolver that would make sense lore wise and wouldn't be able to gain any extra ammo or mag capacity if that makes sense.
Also, close quarters heroes that are usually referred to as tanks with no ammo whatsoever or 1/2 powerful swings(?) instead of guns since a lot of people generally agree that not every character needs a gun. A right example for this would be Viscous, whose abilities are 90% of his damage and impact every game(mostly) and he really doesn't need his gun post laning unless you are playing a troll gun build in low elo I suppose. With this on the table and his model in the works(weird menacing goo creature)
It would be cool to see his "gun"(where the hell did a parapsychic anemone even get that?)get scrapped and get reworked into punchy mechanic to synergize with his melee oriented kit.
 
While thinking about this, I also thought that Shiv is a bit of a generic design and could use some looks into his Rage/Transformation mechanics. The hero is just a plain and boring dude with knives and a bucky which doesn't highlight his lycanthropy that he apparently has according to the scrapped models in the game files.
With this, I would suggest Shiv's ult getting reworked into an execute that transforms him into a werewolf type creature with a different kit for a limited period of time(say, 60 seconds) that has increased movement speed and more animalistic abilities to help with roaming other lanes after a kill.
 
The problem with melee only heroes is that you now CANT deny enemy souls, and wont be able to secure souls(if you get the creep with your abilities or items). You can actually use melee to deny and secure creeps, but it is REAAAALLLLLYYYY unreliable, and most of the time if you will try to deny a soul you will get shot in the face a lot.
And the bonus ammo mechanic does`t have to make sense, dude this game has literal demons from other dimensions, guy who shoots fire finger guns a living statue and many more. You could alway say that extra ammo items come with runes that "Materialize" ammo in you gun chamber, but need to recharge from time to time(reload). It`s a game, it DOESNT HAVE to make sense.
Every character NEEDS to have a gun in order to not be at a huge disadvantage(lane poking and creep kills/secures), even if that gun is useless in late game. You could probably make a skill or an items that locks to melee range temporarily, but denying heroes crucial laning mechanics is BAD.

I believe if Shiv was going to transform at any point, it would be on full rage instead of just glowing. Although, changing his hitbox that much might actually be a nerf.
You could probably make a skill or an items that locks to melee range temporarily

I made a whole character concept playing around guns with limited ammo and special effects. Working for hero art tomorrow probably.

Im cool with this mechanic because guns like dynamo's exist, just saying it would be fun to have a hero based STRICTLY on your weapon for all the aimer Joes out there- like Holliday but dumbed down to managing your ammo. I'm thinking the skill design could be inspired by those two overwatch guys: cassidy and reaper or something.

"denying heroes crucial laning mechanics is BAD." Here is my point. This first and foremost a MOBA, where you need to do good on lane to not loose momentum in game. A hero without a gun will be STOPMPED in every lane. You could always make this new viscouls model throw chuncks of himslef as bullets. And i think artificially decreasing some item effectivenes on specific heroes will be bad, as i said even with "real guns" you could come up with some magic explanation on why it increases ammo.

IF you want realism so much, lets make holliday have a limited ammount of ammo that she caries arround with herself, and uses for reloads. If the player wants to shoot more he then needs to buy every bullet individially. REALISM YEAH!!!!!
Also you have a problem with items making a pistol have more bullets, but you don`t have problems with items making "REAL GUNS" shoot faster, how do you think that works? Are patreons some super engineers that optimize inner mechanics of guns to make them shoot faster? Like you could turn wraith`s tommy gun into a machine gun with her skill and a few items.

missed my point again award🫀 its called a suggestion. viscous could as well be shooting only large blobs and it wouldn't affect the gameplay much. Also there are players with high ping that hate the denying mechanic(it was also tweaked in DoTA so sweats don't have this much of an upper hand in laning stage because they played 1000 matches as shadow fiend or something). if you played the game since at least the nda lift you'd know how excruciating it was to lane against full auto haze wraith matchup when the soul value was same as of the trooper last hit💔.But to each haze player their own superior opinion I suppose

And you yourself are saying that laning with a bad gun is hard, now imagine laning WITHOUT a gun. I played the game a few days after the NDA lift. I have 4k hours in dota and 800 hours in deadlock. I would say I have more experience with mobas than you. My favorite heroes were always mostly spell focused supports, but even they need a way to hit with bullets.
