Mystic burst not activating from viscous puddle punch.

The item mystic burst text says "charges up over time with bonus spirit damage,causing abilities dealing more than 80 damage total to deal additional damage" this item does not specify what kind of damage that needs to be done in order for it to activate, it only specifies ability damage and puddle punch is an ability from the character viscous that when activated deals melee damage.

currently i am in the testing area of the lobby and my puddle punch is dealing 168 damage on the abrams test dummy, however my purchased mystic burst does not activate. it does activate if i use my first ability "splatter".

i am unsure if this interaction or lack there of is intended or not but it is not very clear to the player why it is or isnt.

If you look at the damage type it's melee damage not ability damage. It's working as intended.
