My FPS drops and stays at 10-20 fps when there's a lot of stuff on screen.

i couldnt get any screenshots but what is happening is at the very near end of a match when things gets heated my FPS simply drops to 10-20 fps when i get close to a lot of particle effects, usually in these occasions, the FPS drop to like 50-60 FPS, but sometimes, at random i think?
the FPS drops to 20-10 fps and just... stays there for the rest of the game, i have to restart the game to make things stable again. (and my GPU stays at 100% for some reason)

here's my PC Specs
CPU : Ryzen 5 3600X
GPU : 1660 super (and my GPU is not overheating, neither is the CPU)
Mobo : MSi B450 Tomahawk Max II
RAM : 32GB (2 x 16) 3600 cl16
1 x SSD NVme
2 x SSD Sata (the game is running on one of them)
2 x HDD

it's important to mention that i'm running the game with Vulkan because of the higher 1% FPS and my drivers are up to date, and i'm playing the game at the LOW graphic settings with only the Area Lights and Screen Space AO (medium) checked. (i tried playing the game with every single option unchecked/at the lowest setting but i encounter the same problems they just become less frequent)
i also only leave the game open when i'm playing it.

it happened again, i was playing with waren, dynamo was using his heal power close to me and i tried to lock him in the cage when the FPS fell down and got stuck at 20-13 fps again, here's a screenshot shortly after the encounter.

well... it happened again, same situation: i get close to a lot of characters using their ult and the fps tanks super hard and never recovers.
i get that this is a close beta and stuff like this is normal, but the experience is very frustrating, the dev team spoke about moving solely to vulkan and i hope those issues gets fixed until the game gets public.
i wont update this thread anymore because i'm sure they already know by now, i'm not the only one.

Any time there is big fights with a lot of characters my fps rate drops too. Nothing crazy like in your case, but I can see clearly the difference between a 1v1 or 1v2 fight to a 5v5 fight.

You are literally playing on a 1660 super - super outdated and ultra low end card. You can't honestly complain about optimization when your pc is the bottleneck.

this post sounds a little arrogant... but i assure you that the 1660 super is a decent card and not outdated at all. (at least for games like deadlock)
my GPU isnt the bottleneck, the CPU is, especially in team fights late game, the Vulkan render is the problem, and i aint the only one which feels this way, i have a friend with a RTX 4090 and a i9 9xxxk which had a lot of slowdown in the late parts of the game and also the same problem with the FPS going to shit in the same cases i reported in this very same thread, he changed for DX11 and it fixed the heavy single digit FPS drops.
The game NOW runs fine with DX11 because of the recent optimizations(proving my point that Deadlock WAS badly optimized like every game on a alpha stage lol), the FPS never hits below 60 in heavy team fights with some graphical settings turned on(at 1080p), and my 1660 super runs like a dream around 90-120 fps, it could get higher if wasnt for my R5 3600

so ultra low end card MY ASS LOL.

Optimization is the final step in the game dev process. Of course it's unoptimized, they haven't worked on that yet.
yea i'm aware of that, but they actually did some work to make things run better now because my fps is MUCH higher with the recent updates.
VALVe magic under a new engine i guess.
for a game at an Alpha state, Deadlock is much polished than a lot of Triple A games at launch.

For people which are having the same problem as i had, just play with DirectX11, the Vulkan render in this game is 100% broken, sometimes the FPS just goes to shit and never recovers, that never happens with DX11, the FPS stays stable.
VALVe is probably aware of that and they will fix it because for the game to run good on a steam deck (natively), you need vulkan.
they also said that they will dump the DX11 render and only use Vulkan in the final game.
