My entire game and steam client is crashing with friend invites

[ORBITING]

1) Friend invites me or I invite friend to hideout

2) Press accept

3) Game instantly crashes (loss of audio, no more frames rendered)

4) Closes not only the game but steam and any steam windows open.

WTF
