I've collected a couple of ideas for abilities (and guns) that are not yet in the game but would fit in swimmingly.
Guns (aka the regular left and/or right click attack):
- An idea I'm ripping straight from Paladins. The charge-up weapon of Atlas. Burst fire but you can charge up a shot for a more accurate, further and harder hitting single shot, depending exactly on how long you've charged up the shot. Here's an official demonstration.
- A slow firing rifle (about as slow if not slower than Lady Gheist's revolver) which has a first person zoom like Vindicta's ult, probably also hitscan. I think having something actually sniper like that you can fire repeatedly and not occasionally would be an interesting addition to the game.
Movement abilities:
- A throwable (grenade for example) that either teleports you to the spot it landed on or causes harm in an AOE of the landing spot, depending on whether you clicked M1 or M2 when throwing this ability.
So when thrown with left click, it behaves similar to an Ender Pearl in Minecraft or the rings of Loba from Apex Legends. When thrown with right click, it could deal damage, slow or debuff enemies for example.
- A passive or active that forces you to have a very limited camera turn / character turn radius in order to ramp up speed and hit or stun enemies like a battering ram or maybe Pangolier.
- Nothing new or rare but: A grappling hook. Not like Bebop's of course - one that attaches or lets you swing off of the environment. Or attach yourself to a wall, or jump off a wall after pulling yourself to it.
Miscellaneous:
- Disguise (similar to Monkey King, not Spy). Lets you disguise as a crate, the golden pots, neutral creeps, even lane creeps. You don't have control while in disguise, meaning you can't move or attack. So if you e.g. take over an enemy lane creep, the lane creep will behave just like normal, except you're inside them and can crawl out of them.
This would probably make for an ability with charges, maybe even make for an ultimate if you add powerful additional buff to it while being in the disguise, like a reload and increased healing rate or something along those lines.
- A placabale teleporter for you and teammates to use similar to the Engineer from TF2, except that you don't have global reach and don't have to move to place the exit teleporter by walking to the desired spot. You place the entry and get to choose a spot on the map in the vicinity for the exit. Placing these creates noise and visual cues (like maybe a lightning shooting down to the entry and exit teleporters. These teleporters could have additional effects and drawbacks like a resistance buff upon using them and limited amount of uses in general, or letting the enemy use the teleporter as well.
That's it for now. If I come up with more, I'll post them in a new thread.
