there are a few items that i don't bother with because i know i just want the better version later.
metal skin -> colossus
this one in particular. metal skin is just so expensive that it's not worth it at all. the difference between it and colossus is so significant that you can't really justify buying it instead of saving for colossus.
headshot booster -> crippling headshot
early game, knowing that i can turn headshot booster into the upgrade that is mandatory for my build would make it something i would buy. again as it stands, there are so many other upgradeable cheap items that are arguably better in their own right, and there are definitely better standalone items for early game.
there are probably other items like this that i just haven't noticed because they aren't relevant to my build.
