If you're reloading while in burrow, you can press the reload key to restart your reload.
It doesn't matter if you start the reload before burrowing or during the burrow, either way pressing the reload key again will restart the reload.
I can't find any other time in the game when you can cancel and restart your reload. I don't think there's a function to being able to cancel your reload.
It's annoying because the behavior I expect is I can go into burrow and spam r and expect the reload to only begin at the first r press, but this time I have to make sure I press r only once.
