Mina/Paige - Captivating Read cancelled Sanguine Retreat but the visual still played

I use Sanguine Retreat just as I get hit by Captivating Read. The visual of Sanguine Retreat plays, but I still get hit and when the effect ends, I still have both uses of Sanguine Retreat.

Just came here to report exactly this. I have observed this exact effect multiple times and it's extremely frustrating. Please fix!

I've noticed it happening for other effect/abilities, not just Captivating Read. Mostly it's the effect starts but my character dies mid-flight just like Mina is yoinked back in the video above, except death.
