Mercurial Mag for ults that replace your primary fire scale strangely

Ults that replace your primary fire (Silver Lycan form and Venator crossbow) spirit damage scaling seems incorrect with Mercurial Magnum. At first I thought maybe these weapons base damage was just really low and they have in built multipliers, but they seem to scale significantly with weapon damage too (I used glass canon to demonstrate). I really enjoy making hybrid builds, and I don't really see why Mercurial Mags damage should scale so poorly for these weapons when they scale so well with regular percent based modifiers to weapon damage.


Silver - "Ferocious" weapon
With only Mercurial Mag
Weapon damage - 25
Spirit Damage - 3

With only Glass Canon
Weapon damage - 57

Venator - Ira Domini

With only Mercurial Mag
Weapon damage - 120
Spirit damage - 4

With only Glass Canon
Weapon damage - 314

Edit : (These are just the damage numbers I was seeing when hitting an enemy, not the actual calculated damage.)

I'm pretty sure this is because Mercurial handgun damage is tied to the heroes default gun, even when in wolf form or in Venator ult. It's also based on the damage of just one pellet/bullet which is why when used with their ultimates the damage boost is so low.

Ah you know I had assumed that wasn't the case cause silvers gun was doing 17-18 spirit damage, but I realize now that that damage is spread across 7 projectiles so roughly 2.5 spirit damage per projectile, that does make sense then.
