Melee Fighting System is totally broken

This is a prime example of how broken the parrying and punching is.

I died 5 times because of this bs due to laning phase - Here's the replay : 34537382

I throw a light punch after they parried, right? I saw, and waited, no more blue light & animation. My ass. I still get parried even though its 0.1s after the animation. When its clearly i hit them after it expired. This happened 3 times and lost me the lane early game.

Not to mention when I want to fucking parry when im 1 hit away, and i can save myself - oh, no, parry doesnt work, the input doesnt go through - i just die and get punched even though i pressed F before they charged up their fist. LOL

I punch someone and they're clearly 3m away - The punch still hits and kills them from a distance like i have long ass hands that can reach on the other side of the map.

Valve, what the fuck is this?


EDIT : Also, when the fuck are you guys going to fix the CALICO stuck in animation bug? I cant even play her, i get stunned and i have to waste an ability charge to get out of the bug - cause im slow as hell and not full speed.

While annoying. This is only a visual bug that happens when you are stunned or killed mid dash. Yes, other animations force a reset. No it does not effect your game play other than a placebo effect caused by removing visual queues. Which is annoying. But you can still shoot, punch parry, jump, dodge, and other wise move as normal.

It just LOOKs like you arnt.

No it does not effect your game play other than a placebo effect caused by removing visual queues. Which is annoying. But you can still shoot, punch parry, jump, dodge, and other wise move as normal.

I appreciate your reply, thanks for the info regarding the bug. It probably just felt that way ( placebo ) due to the FOV being pushed up closer when it happens.

Yea probably. I mean, dont get me wrong its still annoying as hell and still throws you off because you are suddenly missing the visual queues you use to make decisions and makes you think they are not happening.

But just so you can show yoruself and try and force yoruself to play normally when it happens, watch your stamina bar when you dodge. Still goes down, and you do a little "dash" with no animation changes. Just try and play normally till you can reset it without dying or wasting anything.

(bug still usually gets me killed anyways, its very difficult to overcome the feeling that everything just borked.)

You actually can't dash while in this bug if I am not mistaken.

I am not sure, normally when this happens im not trying to dash, just dodge while trying to live because I got cced while using 2 to begin with. Meaning I missed out on healing that I likely needed. Also one of the reasons I usually die with this bug happens because the 2 is fairly easy to hit with cc since its a straight line.
 
I second this, you cant dash unfortunately. I died cause of this a buncha times.
Just to be clear. When you say dash, are you talking about utilizing one stamina by pressing shift and a direction in order to perform a short increased movement in that direction? If so, this is what i mean by dodging and this still works.

Things I havnt tried to do is a jump dash, dash jump, or any other combination of stamina using movement mechanics.

But a single use of stamina in order to move in a specific direct usually accompanied by an animation like a roll or jump does in fact work.

I think there's 2 different types of animational bugs with calico - The one you suggested, whilst using the 2 and getting stunned ( example : grey talon trap ) - bam, stuck in clawing animation, cannot dash - cannot jump high.

By dash we mean dodge, yep. For us it doesnt work. I think it depends from animation ur stuck in?

Agreed brother.

Also i said 2 as i know about the talon one that happens all the time - and another one that had happened to me including in the recording - was the wire transport animation.

I have beef with the wire too. I pointed up to jump and 2 and instead instantly hit the ground and was stuck there family guy style. When I looked later it said it was the wire stun for when you get shot on the wire.

I never even left the ground, nor did I hold space bar to get on it, nor did I look directly at it and all animations were canceled so i just instantly teleported into a laying on ground pose and couldnt do anything.
 
Bump. Just got out of a game, i parried before they hit me - and they didnt get parried as the animation happened afterwards. A delay in parrying is the issue, for sure.

Of all the times I've been stunned and bugged by the dash bug not once have I been able to dash away, I can spam dash and EVERY time I attempt to dash it moves slightly faster and to my knowledge uses no stamina I can spam it for days but it just makes you move slightly faster and barely in that direction at all, it also feels like you're moving slower than normal running speed. When it happens in lane you're dead, you have no options, when it happens later game, you MIGHT be able to get out of it if you have team there or get lucky/have ult to use and reset yourself.

Yea, thats because you are not getting any visual queues. This type of stuff happens in all sorts of games. Where you feel slower because, for example, your model got bigger, so the animation slows down to accommodate the distance you are traveling. But you are still moving at the same speed.

Its the animation that sells to your brain that you are moving the way you expect. You are not slower, you are still dashing. That slightly faster move is the distance the dash moves normally without any other modifiers. You definitely are using stamina.

COMPLETELY FALSE in case of calico bug IT USES NO STAMINA AND DOES NOT PERFORM A DASH

Here you can see the stamina bar flasshing every time i try to dash, it barely moves 1m normal dash is WAY further.

Maybe you experienced some different bug in your 400 games on Calico, but the tallon trap bug DOES NOT ALLOW you to dash. You are completely wrong in this case, it is not a purely visual glitch, unless you want to tell me that a normal dash is barelly 2m in distance(it`s about 15m in my experience)

Edit: for some reason my steam recordings are broken and refuse to load, is it only for me or no one can watch this clip?

I can see it and that is something.

I have already conceded taht there could be two bugs though.
