mcginnis wall ramp interaction

Not sure if this is intentional to not be able to fully cast the wall from the bottom of the base entry ramp~

The wall automatically activated at some collision point in the ramp - in this replay you can see I'm trying to wall off enemy heroes so we can clear the wave and reposition, but I accidentally wall off bebop because it activated itself.
 
This happened on a different incline as well as the same one in my subsequent game. If it's a targeting issue or a "we can't let you do that mcginnis is broken enough" thing then the UI doesn't indicate it.
