McGinnis Ultimate - Uninterrupted by Sleep

A picture is worth a thousand words they say, but its a channel so I figured it should get interrupted by the sleep, but nope, my ult kept going as I slept, and I could aim it too. I believe I sent 3 to wait in the graveyard during my "sleep", completely ignoring the CC part of sleep.

If this is intended behavior, please consider these alternatives:
Its interrupted
It continue through, but the player doesn't get to control it as long as the CC is going
It continues, the player doesn't get to control it, and its aimed in a line and goes "forward" until it reaches max distance and just stays there(creating a safezone for more defined gameplay)
It continues, the player doesn't get to control it, and its randomly aimed, and causes friendly fire.(The ability is tremendously powerful at the moment, and lasts too long, it should have some interesting drawbacks, plus would be funny.)

Most ultimates aren't actually interrupted by Haze's sleep (quite annoyingly, in my opinion). Seven and Warden's ult are un-interrupted, too

Figured I'd ask if it was intended, the art shows her rocket pods being pretty autonomous, so it might have been. Is there a chart of CCs/Durations/Effects/ETC yet?

Not that I'm aware of, no. It would be pretty difficult since things get changed with extreme frequency, and the duration for most effects are modified by other items.

I think Sleep Dagger temporarily pausing the ult would be fair. Having it resume afterward would still let you use a lot of these ults continue with substantial duration remaining (except poor Dynamo), and it would force your team to have trigger discipline as not to wake up the ulting enemy early.

I'm of the "winning isn't good enough, until you lose something" school of rewards, if you toss your ult and get interrupted, you should lose it, specially if it rewards a skill like Sleep Dagger's manual targeting.

But maybe a middle ground, its interrupted, you lose it immediately, but whatever duration you had left, is removed from the ability's cooldown when it gets interrupted, and it goes on a reduced cooldown before you can activate it again.

Perhaps, but the only way to keep yourself from getting interrupted as, say, a Seven ulting when they have a Haze on their team would be to very quickly invest 6500 Souls in Unstoppable, which is the only item that can actually prevent a Sleep Dagger from invisibility (and then only for several seconds). If there were a Linken's Sphere-type item or cheaper BKB like item I'd be inclined to agree, but otherwise I think a non-ult like Sleep Dart would just be too brainless a counter to any ongoing ult that slows/stops you while you use it.

I like Overwatch's approach to balancing certain ultimates (Roadhog's, Sigma's, Ramattra's) around Ana's Sleep Dart, which is to make them "transformation" ultimates that can still be interrupted but still resume afterward if they are woken up. It's still a powerful interrupt, but it's not a my-basic-ability-always-trumps-your-ult interaction that it used to be.

Fair enough, I'm more in tune with fighting games and arena shooters than I am with hero shooters, so your approach is probably better here.
I know adding items like BKB or Linken's sphere would probably overall slow down games, too powerful to ignore kind of items are not per say bad, but they do have a cost.
