McGinnis spectral wall will freeze on objects when being placed

Thank you for posting the issue, I was about to make the same post.

Match ID you can confirm it happened: 39117347 (4:20 & 5:25 in game time)

Unless this is a stealth balance update, I believe this is a bug. Especially considering the inconsistency with which it gets stuck.

Here is some testing I've done.
  • Thought it might be the new map geometry or prop classes, but it happened in the sandbox as well, which I believe still has the same type props as before?
  • It's specifically the middle piece of the wall that gets stuck, none of the other pieces get it stuck.
  • Might have to do with distance? It gets stuck a lot more on closer objects.
  • Didn't get stuck on building walls, it was things that are probably props

It's definitely an annoying bug. The two places I frequently had it happen in matches seemed to be the sloped stairs just in front of the friendly lane guardian (stops right at the top of the stairs) & the wall separating the spawn from the weakened patron (mcwall stops in spawn, doesn't want to enter the patron pit). it might have to do with changes in verticality when the moving wall collides when an object.
 
If this is an intended fix, Valve PLEASE let us know. It has been driving me absolutely crazy.

Previously you could use spectral wall past other walls, and when it hit thicker walls it could not pass through, it would deploy immediately.

I cannot express enough how painful this bug has been for me. If this is a deliberate change to prevent McGinnis from hitting walls blind (behind cover) then please tell us, this drastically changes how wall can be used. Also for what it's worth, hitting a good wall on an enemy you can't see is very satisfying.
 
I think sinclair is affected by the same bug. The doesn't appear when putting on anywhere that is not flat and instantly goes on cooldown.
