McGinnis' Spectral Wall clipping into different layers of the map

I had a McGinnis game recently where there were a few times it seemed like my Spectral Walls just vanished despite the ability functioning completely normally otherwise, so I downloaded the replay to see what happened. It seems like certain spots on the map cause the wall to jump between height levels if the level McGinnis is trying to place the wall isn't considered suitable enough. Forgive some the screenshot angles, as I wasn't used to controlling the spectator camera yet.

At about 22:26 in the match, I try to place a wall to block off an enemy escaping from the blue walker through the left archway, but instead of being placed in the archway or behind it, it gets moved up into the hallway above the arch with that big group of alternating boxes and golden statues.

Additionally, at about 23:37 into the match, I try to place a wall to block some enemies and escape into the subway entrance by blue guardian, but instead of the wall being placed inside the area I'm in, it gets teleported down into the map and gets placed inside the tunnel system meant for character's like Rem and Calico.

Maybe to help address this bug, McGinnis could have a more direct influence on where the Spectral Wall gets places vertically depending on where the player is looking? For example, looking above a bridge would place the wall on top of the bridge, while looking under it would place the wall under the bridge.
