A lot of comparing about matchmaking at the moment.
Posting to raise that there is a bug or design issue with the matchmaker in relation to rank disparity tolerances. These need to be tightened and should be experimented on actively now. More transparency on weightings and changes is also needed.
Regularly seeing players below alchemist be placed into lobbies with players Archon or above, and vice versa. I recently saw a seeker vs Emissary lobby, and the seeker team was true seeker. The Emissary team had one initiate player and an Ascendant player.
This should just not happen. Slightly longer queue times are preferred over these sorts of imbalances. There is no point in that game playing out for anyone involved.

There should be:
- maximum rank discrepancies allowable within a team and between teams.
- Maximum rank discrepancies for parties (reinstated)
- Tighter controls on rank distribution within a team (e.g. One eternus and 5 ritualists is not an Archon competitive team)
- Upper limits on extremely low rank player matching. E.g. Initiate players should never be placed in lobbies above seeker / alchemist
- Lower limits on extremely high rank player matching e.g. Eternus players should never be in a lobby with players below Emissary or ritualist
- Restrictions on new accounts being placed in lobbies above seeker before they are ranked
