Match Boot when Join party while in game

I was in a party with a friend that needed to restart the client for internet issues. He reinvited me to a party before rejoining. At one point during the match it was paused. I went to the menu and saw the option to join the party. I clicked it and it booted me out of the match and I could not rejoin the game.

I have had similar issue, here are the steps that were done:
1. We are in a party with a friend, so there are two of us.
2. A third friend sends an invite.
3. I click the checkmark, meaning "accept" the invite.
4. I get kicked to the main menu, and there is no "return" button.
5. I click on the friend who stayed in the game - "spectate".
6. It brings me back into the game.
7. After the game ends, I am banned for a few minutes. The timer might have started from the end of the game or from the moment I reconnected through "spectate".
