Pretty simple idea, character has at least 2 stances, can swap at will or when certain abilities are used, different stances have different primairy fires and maybe different abilities, and for added flair theyre some kind of man rat hybrid who got fused together and now share a body while still having different minds, theyre fighting for control of the body. They seek the power of a patron in hopes it can split them.
