Learning to love the Bomb - Hero idea

I couldn't quite come up with a name, but there's a certain war-mongering jingoist-shaped hole in my heart.
After a night of spitballing and taking notes, recycling and remixing old ideas, and a good helping of laughter, I will present my yet-to-be-named Hero.

Is he a deranged rat-man? An overly-eager 4th of july celebrator with too much fireworks? A soldier with weapons of mass destruction? I don't know. I couldn't come up with a visually cohesive design. Have fun.

STATS:

-Move speed at 240 Hu/s

-200% base melee damage. Convert Hu/sec directly into additional melee damage.

-No limit to double/air jump, highly mobile.

-4 Stamina bars, Stamina recovery 6.5/sec. Use your jumps wisely.

- velocity uncapped to allow speed buildup. Ground contact deceleration disabled. bhopping enabled. airstrafe/air control enabled.

WEAPON:
Picture a Thumper cut down to the proportions of a flare gun. The Iconic sound of the thumper is a requirement. THUNK!
You might have the power of a mortar in your hands, but all you brought with you were chalk rounds. They'll never hurt as much as real bullets, but they pack enough of a punch (and chalk dust) to hurt a lot.1768802482840.png

-On hit, target will be chalked. This status imparts the color of the chalk round onto them. Direct hits with chalk grenades will mark enemies with a bold outline.

-On 2 stacks of chalked, entity will be marked and start suffocating (5 dmg per sec, 2.5% slow, scales with stacks of chalked up to 5x)

-Chalk dust hangs in air for a few seconds, behaving similarly to steam from street grates, or gas from smoke grenades.

-On contact with chalk cloud, target will be chalked.

-Projectile moves at 1510 hu/s. Arcs strongly.

-Ammo capacity limited to 1. Must reload *every shot* Cannot increase magazine capacity. Make your shots count.

-60 damage per shot, headshots enabled.

ABILITIES

  1. Rat Swarm.
-Builds up to stack of 5 - 10 - 15 (based on upgrade level) Charge by doing damage.

-Hold right click to increase number of rats released. Once active, rats cannot be returned to their cages. (you cannot switch off once toggle is active, you must release at least one rat or suffer 5 damage per sec per unreleased rat) Rats will deal damage over time depending on number of uses active (they will be scratching and biting the caster). use right click to count up number of rats to release. Use left click to light fuse and release rats.

-Rats will run frantically in all directions when released (picture HL1 Snarks). Rats have fire crackers strapped to their backs. Rats will attack any entity they come into contact with, biting for 10 damage. Rats can be shot and killed with just about anything, but tend to be fast and evasive. After 20 seconds, with or without contact with a target (including the caster) Rats will detonate with a blast radius of 90 hu, dealing 30 damage.

  2. Firework Rockets.

-Stacks up to 3. Charge time 10 sec.
    -Projectile inflicts 60 burn damage

    -Travels at 2000 Hu/sec.

Explodes and creates strong knockback, blast radius of 200 hu.

-Can be used as a mobility item with clever control of blast.

    -Upgrade: White Phosphorous, Tier 3
blind targets for 2 sec on direct hit, sets target on fire.

  3. Upgrade for Primary weapon, Live Grenades.

-Headshots with primary will periodically explode.

    -20sec Cooldown

    -200 damage

-Good luck hitting headshots with a grenade launcher.

    -Upgrade: Shrapnel, Tier 1
Grenades will now produce shrapnel. Shrapnel automatically ricochets to nearby targets, inflicting 25 damage and bleed.

    -Upgrade: Remote Detonation, Tier 2
Didn't hit a shot you were hoping for? Detonate it mid air.

  4. The Big One.

-Caster will mount large man-sized rocket like bull rider

-character will whoop and holler, maybe doing a rebel yell and waving any headwear around. Dr. Strangelove comes to mind.

    1768804295476.png
-Ride rocket into large group of enemies and blow up

-big damage (Undetermined)

-Blind all players caught in radius or looking at bomb for 5 sec.

-Produces plenty of shrapnel.

-After initial explosion, leave lingering chalk cloud for 30 sec. Chalk stack cap increased to 15.
