Latency bug? - can't buy items, can't unlock abilities, can't use chat

Been playing Deadlock for some time on Windows and recently switched over to Linux, the the game plays fine when queuing solo but since the switch to the latter OS I'm now encountering a bug/issue when queuing in a party (seemingly latency-related; see below) that affects several features -
  1. Unable to buy items in the shop - the game does play the 'buy' sound if an item is clicked but it won't actually give it to me
  2. Unable to unlock abilities or their upgrades unless I use the number keys
  3. Unable to send chat messages - you can type out text but nothing gets sent when you press return
Restarting the game and rejoining the match sometimes fixes this but that's obviously not a perfect solution as it will mean the team is going to be down a player while I restart, and of course there's no actual guarantee that issue will have actually resolved itself even after I've rejoined.

It's important to note that this issue never occurred while I was on Windows and only started after I installed Linux on my machine. My girlfriend also plays Deadlock on Linux and it's happening to her as well, though again only when queuing in a party.

Update - after experiencing this issue on several further occasions we've realised that it seems be network/latency related. It's something that we can't exactly help though when the internet connection where we live is so slow. We use a wired/ethernet connection as opposed to a wireless one if that makes any difference?

We have found a few ways to somewhat get round the issues but the situation is still not perfect - as mentioned before, the number keys can be used to unlock/upgrade abilities and items can also be bought if the desired build is set to be auto-queued and auto-buy. I assume the Quickbuy button could be used instead of auto-buy but I'm not totally sure.

However, Imbue items still seem to be at an impasse as even if we use the number keys the game will never actually be able to imbue the item to an ability and this prevents them from being bought, even with auto-buy or the quickbuy button. Obviously this is a quite a problem as these tend to be some of the most essential items to be buy and it puts us at a disadvantage if we're unable to get them. There's also no workaround for chat in any way.
