Lash stuck into wall

I have had this issue before where I would ground strike into a surface and then get stuck into a wall. Previously, I could just hit the "Unstick hero" button but the past couple times it has happened it no longer works.

I have noticed that both times it has happened it is when I ground strike and land on the small awning / lip above doorways.
