Jet Boosters (a.k.a. what if Heavy Melee Cancel returned as an item)

Heavy Melee Cancel was a movement tech that you'd use midair to get a burst of horizontal speed, and this game has fun ways to extend a burst of horizontal speed (mainly with sliding and walljumping), so it was a fun tech to use. It was removed, but now we have Slingshotting (a recently discovered tech that gives a burst of horizontal speed, I just posted about it in Bug Reports) which is another fun way to get a burst of horizontal speed.

I expect Slingshotting to be removed, but because the people yearn for horizontal speed boosts [citation needed], I think it would be fun to have a $1600 or $3200 item that just gives a dramatic burst of horizontal speed on a fairly low cooldown (e.g. 12s), primarily meant to be used midair and extended with crouches and walljumps. Essentially, Heavy Melee Cancel but not arcane, and since it would be an official game mechanic then it could have suitably dramatic vfx/sfx (a nice dramatic burst like a Quick Boost in Armored Core 6).

It could have a brief charge-up before it fires (which is essentially how Heavy Melee Cancel worked, and was part of what made HMC so fun to use since that charge-up adds some drama to the movement).

I miss Heavy Melee Cancel as well. Unfortunately, I learned about this technique shortly before it was removed.

I think we can get some movement items based on Melee attacks sometime in the future. For example, active item that will launch us in attack's direction with medium cooldown.

Additions:

1. I think the vfx/sfx should really emphasize a sense of "brief charge up and then burst". Makes it a lot more satisfying to use than if it's just instant the way Majestic Leap is instant.

2. The item could spend some stamina on use, in exchange for having a low cooldown. Having a separate way to spend stamina on an alternative form of horizontal movement strikes me as a fun idea.
