Item fantasy is IMPORTANT!

Items should have more interesting artwork and personalized names,

Item fantasy is something DotA, League, and WoW do SO well, and it isn't talked about as much as other features with just how much it improves the feeling of playing the game..
Like what even am i looking at in this shop? Minimalism is pretty in theory, but in practice it makes the shop feel soulless

as compared to in league where from left to right you have the bow "Ruunans Hurricane", the dual swords "Phantom Dancers" the Flachion "Wit's End",
each item feels impactful not just stats wise, but flavor wise while youre learning to play and beyond.

im sure some people might disagree, but IMO the current deadlock shop is boring and needs a glow up

As far as I am aware the curent shop is a placeholder(atleast to a certain degree). You can expect it to change drastically. Not sure if they will add personalized fantasy item names, but I hope they do.

I just don't agree, sorry: I'm a big fan of the fast readability - LoL's items' art were clearly each made zoomed in with no other items' art next to them. Visual-language-wise it's overcooked soup

I'm not sure about that one. Sure, it sounds cool, but it's a lot easier to understand the properties of "Slowing Bullets" or "Majestic Leap" from just the name. Newer players aren't going to know what "Rabadon's Deathcap" or "Linken's Sphere" does.

Sure, I think that deadlock's item's could use a little more flavor, but Riot's format of (antiquated word from websters) + (item name) isn't it.

That's why it should be an options toggle. It should be more than doable to have one option that fits the world, and another option that's just right now. No need to worry about translations either. From what I have read, most of the non-english speakers prefer for item and hero names to be untranslated for clarity.

I had the concept of “Playing Cards” as items (Based on the fact that many characters as we know from lines, play poker with each other in the evenings). I posted this in Art Feedback, my pictures use game items that are in the game right now but in an ideal vision of the items they would have more “realistic” pictures (example below but more suited to the style of the game).
