Recorded a few videos showing some weird interactions, bugs or oversight with the "rest hero" function in Hero Testing. In total there is 14 heroes that have some type of breakage when reset hero is used during the usage of an ability with 3 of them causing my game to crash to desktop each time i tried it. I've had some of these occur in a real match if i had died or was CC'd during some of these abilities in the past. I doubt most of these could be done in a real match since you cant "reset" your hero unless you were using an exploit. Any heroes not shown in the video either dont have any or i was unable to get anything to occur.
Additionally, Shiv, Bebop, Calico, and Grey Talon will bend their legs through their torso when holding to cast an item like Curse while dashing.
Heroes: Abrams, Bebop, Calico, Holiday, Ivy, Kelvin, Lash, Mo & Krill, Shiv, Sinclair, Warden, Yamato, Raven, and Trapper.
The recordings are in .mkv and it wont let me insert them into the post so they will ask to be downloaded when trying to view them. (sorry)
If this has already been documented or posted, feel free to take it down or let me know so i can take it down.
Textual explanation (if you cant watch the recordings)
Abrams: Using reset hero during Siphon Life will cause him to keep the book open until the ability is used again.
Abrams: Using reset hero during his Ultimate will cause him to fall down to the ground, stuck in the ready to slam pose he gets when in the air. You can melee, parry, shoot, move, use any non-ult ability and he'll stay stuck in that animation. Using his ult will reset him to normal.
Bebop: Using reset hero during his Ultimate will create an instance of his laser, leading from his right hand towards wherever you were looking when it was reset. can be done multiple time to create more lasers that will eventually brick your fps. Either swapping heroes or leaving and going back into Hero Testing resets this.
Calico: Using reset hero during her Ultimate will turn her completely invisible after she reappears. You can shoot, melee, parry, move, use your non-ult abilities and stay invisible. Using her ult makes her visible again.
Holiday: Using reset hero while in the air after taking one of her Bounce Pads will cause the game to crash just as you land.
Ivy: Using reset hero during Stone Form will make her fall to the ground staying stuck in stone form, bugging the camera, and leaving a permanent impact indicator where it was done that goes away after changing hero or being killed. You can shoot, move, melee, parry, use any ability and it will persist.
Kelvin: Similar to Bebop, using reset hero during his Ice Beam will create a instance of the beam, and is able to be done multiple times until it starts to brick your fps. Additionally, the area of range will persist with you, and if you change teams after doing the beam reset, the world becomes dark. getting killed or changing heroes gets rid of this
Lash: Using reset hero during Death Slam will drop him out of it, leaving the cone of range that you see during his ult physically in the world. Getting killed or changing heroes gets rid of this.
Mo & Krill: Using reset hero during Burrow will pop you out of the ground, with persisting visual effects that can be multiplied by doing this again. doing it enough will brick your fps. Changing heroes gets rid of it but getting killed didnt do anything.
Shiv: Using reset hero during your Ultimate, you can break/bug your animations in 2 ways. 1st one is done during the leap towards your enemy before you slice. You'll be stuck in a leaping pose able to do anything with him until you ult again. 2nd one is done right before/ as you slice someone with ult. You'll go through them and be stuck in his idle pose but be able to move around and do anything until you ult again.
Sinclair: You can replicate the same breakage with a few of these heroes with his Ultimate. Tried it with Abrams, Bebop, Shiv. You'll get stuck in the same way if you reset during those and you will be given the purple hero model of whoever you ulted if you reset during the time when you have the enemies model.
Warden: Using reset hero during the channel of his Ultimate will create a persistant circle above his head that stays until you die or change hero. Doing it after the channel will keep him in the floating animation for a while afterwards.
Yamato: Using the reset during her Ultimate will bug the camera, using her ult again will fix it.
Raven: Using reset hero during his Ultimate will crash the game to desktop. Additionally, if you try to corner peek as raven, his model will distort into the ground.
Trapper: Using reset hero during the 3rd ability, everthing seems fine. if you do that then walk into an enemy before the ability wears off, it'll crash the game to desktop.
Additionally, Shiv, Bebop, Calico, and Grey Talon will bend their legs through their torso when holding to cast an item like Curse while dashing.
