[Hero Idea] - Mael, Portal 2 Gel based hero

Valve is famous for its liquid mechanics, there is a portal based hero incoming, why not add gel based hero too?

GUN
Main mode: Vyper's gun with Viscous alt fire, without explosions. Projectile speed is the same as Viscous alt fire. Basically a gun that shoots liquid.
Alt fire: Holiday's gun but with 75% slower fire rate, consumes triple ammo.

Spell 1:

Concentrated Gel
Fires a small Gel ball that damages the enemies and drags an enemy along with it. [Calico's old cat ability, but it floats in an arc, like Viscous' alt fire].

Spell 2:

Jumping Gel
Throws a ball of blue gel, that creates blue puddle on impact. Enemies that step in the puddle bounce in the air and take 50 damage. If allied hero jumps on the puddle, they recieve extra jumping height. [the distance is twice normal jumping height]. [Viscous puddle punch and splatter packed in one spell]

Spell 3:

Rush Gel
Creates orange gel trail that gives movement bonuses to him and his allies. Allies get bonus move speed and can Slide up hills while on this gel. Mael is affected by Gel all the time the ability is active. (Mechanically this is Kelvin's Ice Path and Vyper slide mixed together. The hero himself becomes Vyper but for a limited time).
Duration - 5 seconds.

Spell 4, ultimate:

Moist overload
Creates a huge puddle of green gel around himself. Enemies are slowed down for 1% for each drop they collided with. Maximum slow - 40% [Up to 100% with upgrades].
[Creates a huge minefield (that consists of small liquid drops), and each time enemy steps on a drop, the drop dissapears and the enemy is slowed down. There is a huge amount of this drops, so it stacks really fast. Mechanically this is AOE Keeper of the Light's Solar Bind, but if you are careful enough, you can escape]

Extra ability, spell 1 can be replaced with this one.
Spell ?:

Liquid Barrage
Shoot a gel in front of you, that damages and pushes the enemies away. If enemy is pushed against the wall, they take additional damage.
[Kelvin's arctic ray that pushes enemies away. Deals less damage, but if the enemy is against the wall, the damage is 130% of Kelvin's ray. Mechanically this is similar to Overwatch Roadhog ultimate, but a small AOE]

Basically the whole kit is a mix of Vyper and Kelvin, with different item builds he can be either carry, or a support. Some gun bonuses can be added to his Spell 2 or Spell 3.

References (yep, the second one is Ghostbusters cartoon, but the design is just right, if you replace backpack with a canister)

Kit update.

Lore: Portals to the spirit plane actually open way more often than people think. A secret service of spirit fighters was created to block off small portals before they become a much serious threat.
[Firefighter but with a Gel]

Gun: Vyper gun, but with Kelvin bullets with low damage

Conceentrated Gel is the Doorman's Cart now, so it needs to be replaced. Liquid Barrage is the default option.

Spell 3.b: [Replaces Rush Gel]
Liquid Armor [30s CD]

Increase your bullet size and decrese bullet velocity. If your bullet collide with enemy bullet, destroy both. 7 second duration.
Casting Liquid Armor reloads your weapon.

Bullet size increase scales with spirit? 30 + 0.8%

[Isaac's Lost Contact/Shielded tears]
[Against weapon heroes it is a protection skill, against spirit heroes it is a damage skill]

T1: +20% fire rate
T2: Applies a stacking debuff reducing their Spirit by 1 with each stack. Lasts 1 second
T3: On activation gain 100% bonus ammo
T1.b: Adds bonus damage to each bullet, scales with spirit
T?: Your bullets pierce enemies [Just like Paige gun]
T?: Your bullets no longer destroy itself when blocking enemy bullet

Spell 1.b:

Clay Gel [25s CD]
Shoot a torrent of clay in front of you, dealing damage and creating puddles of clay on surfaces. Clay prevents enemies from jumping, using stamina and movement abilities, it also prevents sliding off and falling down 3s duration.

30 + 0.7 dps

[Stuck enemies can use their movement keys to walk over the surface, even if it is a wall or ceiling]
[Puddle is created with an interval, you cannot abuse it to make too much puddles]
[You can create Clay puddles on the ceiling and Jumping Gel on the floor to force them to jump and stick to the ceiling]

T1: +2s duration
T2: Reduces enemies fire rate by 30%
T3: While stuck: reduces enemies bullet resistance 20%
 
I like a Gel based hero. Very cool and sounds chaotic.

Also I really like your design/art for it.


I'll need to replay Portal 2 again to see the effects of the gels in that game and what it infers for this hero.
 
Design and kit update

Lore:
While working at the lab, Mael made a breakthrough in spirit-induced gels and decided to quit. His plan was to start his own company—one that would make the world a better place and earn him a fortune.

However, starting an independent spirit company in a market dominated by Fairfax Industries is not easy. Unfortunately for Mael, he realized this too late.

Thankfully, a ritual is taking place. Perhaps the Patrons can provide him with the investment he needs. And, at the very least, he could promote his future products in action.
General ideas: Mael is a scientist (a chemist), just like Dynamo, however, he is bad at communicating with people, so he does not teach. His main focus right now is to promote his own products, but given his lack of emotional intelligence, he does it poorly

I renamed all of his abilities in a way so it was similar to retro household chemicals name. Here is a good link if you want to do research yourself.

Kit

Ability 1
Wash-A-Way

Continuesly spray gel, that damages enemies on impact.
[Channelling - cast Viscous' Splatter every 0.3 second with a very smal radius of impact.]
[Portal 2 had water drip effects, so this ability uses same drip animation]

Ability 2

Instant Concrete, charged

Fire a sphere of concrete, that blocks bullets and slows and disables movement based abilities and items. The sphere has its own HP, and its size is proportional to its HP.

[Fires a small ball, that flies straight, and increases in Size and becomes a huge (5m diameter) Sphere on impact with an obstacle or an Enemy Hero. If it is Created in the air, it drops straight down (the concrete is heavy, you know). Automatically becomes a sphere 3s after cast (so you can cast it over obstacles - it will drop down)]
[Looks like a big spherical gray goo]

Ability 3

Rush Spray

Create a zone, that increases heroes movement speed, prevents enemies from stopping and reduces their accuracy.

Mael can slide in the area indefinitely.

[Create an icy sliding surface, that prevents enemies minimum speed go below sertain threshold]
[Should work as Dota's Force Staff, but in AOE. Makes fights more chaotic, area denial]
[Orange gel effect]

Ability 4
Smart Swamp

Cover the area around you in small gel drips, that sticks to the enemies that passes through them. Each drop slows down and deals damage.

[Same ability as in V1. Create a huge minefield, that you could avoid with good stamina usage. Also looks funny, because you wipe the floor with your hero]
[Blue gel effect. Sinclair has a special glow around his drips, or make allied drips gray]
