Interaction of "Metal skin" with hero passive abilities and passive items dependent on bullets.

When shooting as "Infernus" with "Afterburn" ability unlocked in target that used "Metal Skin" item - passive stacks accumulate. Same work with hero "Haze" and her "Fixation" ability. "Metal Skin" description says "Become immune to bullets and melee attacks". So it turns out that the correct description of the item would be "Become immune to DAMAGE from bullets and melee attacks". Thus it turns out that all attacks hit the target but simply do not cause damage. And in connection with this, it turns out that either the description of the item is incorrect or the item does not work correctly.
All items that interact with MELEE ATTACK ("Melee Charge", "Lifestrike", "Spirit Strike") and with item "Headhunter" and more items that affect bullet projectile work if the attack is applied to a target that used "Metal Skin".
Is that correct interaction?
 
I think I understood what the problem was. Since English is not my native language, there was a misunderstanding.
I understand the word "bullet" or "bullets" as a type of projectile. But it turns out that in the description of items, for example, giving resistance to a type of damage, the term "bullet" or "bullets" is used, which means "damage from bullets". Thus, the description of the "Metal Skin" item is correct, I just misunderstood the terminology of the game.
