AoE targeting is inconsistent. In some cases the circle is centered around the target (i.e. the ground beneath the crosshair), but in some cases it is offset. This variation is frustrating and can happen in the same kit (abilities + active items).
Some examples:
Paige's Captivating Read works how I would expect (centered around the target)
Whereas the following all have the AoE offset from the target location
Vortex Web
Alchemical Fire
Entangling Thorns
Rabbit Hex seems to be offset in a different direction to those above
Pulse grenade is offset a lot
I notice this especially when trying to combo Vortex Web + Captivating Read, as Web will pull them to a different center from the Read unless I throw them to different targets to adjust for the offset.
