[Idea] Base/team upgrades

Expensive upgrades that the entire team works towards to upgrade things like guardian and patron health, multiple levels to it but even just the first would be something expensive like 15k and it would vary depending on what your upgrading, but it would be like a fund that you can add souls to across your whole team and when the goal is reached it automatically upgrades. And also another system that you can upgrade general team things like health, damage or armor but would be expensive and instead of having a fund would come straight out of one person, these upgrades also wouldn't be as effective as just buying an upgrade that just effects you so you have to make the decision on whether you want something that effects your whole team or just you.
 
Base upgrades - definetely not. Games get long already, and making them even longer definetely isn't something players want.

Team upgrades wouldn't be that bad, other than basically giving huge advantage to the winning team, with low chance of the game turning around.
 
Zipline and candle upgrades to accelerate late game would be good.
But who's gonna pay for upgrades? It's very unlikely for 6 random guys to solve poverty.

If you want to accelerate the late-game, you'd actually need some sort of denial. Ziplines bring you back to the action faster, meaning MORE fighting and MORE gametime, leading to a deceleration overall.

If you want to do something with minions, however, that's definitely viable. Say, spend 1,000 souls to send 5 extra minions down a lane? In early and mid-game this WOULD slow down the game, but they're not feasible at those times. At endgame when you're rushing a base and a ton of minions are leaking in and wreaking havoc? Could easily push a win condition. So, summoning extra minions COULD be a decent idea.

Ackhually....

Ziplines already are faster the later in game you are. And technically yes - it pushes you into action faster, BUT respawn timer makes those fights more important, cause 60 seconds of respawn timer is enough to push all lines and/or destroy the base.

Actually putting a machine in the middle of the lane, where you could spend money to send extra minions during single wave could be fun mechanic? Reminds me all those battle tower defense games.
And that's enough of an idea to make it into another idea post.
