Hero Idea/Concept: Dark Messiah
Visual Design: A young teen raised in a cult to ultimately host your usual dark demon deity guy/gal. Think Paimon from Hereditary, Orochi Chris from KOF or possibly Zappa from old Guilty Gear depending what you believe matches the occult noir setting better.
Voice: varies from calm and confused child to Nolan North shadowfiend.
Overall team role: Aggressive team support.
Ability 1:
Shadow tendril:
The dark messiah attaches a shadow to any wall/object that materializes into a sweeping tentacle that knocks back any enemy nearby.
“Using powers of the abyss, attach a portal to any surface that will spawn a shadow tendril that damages and knocks back any enemies passing by.”
40 damage, 35s cooldown.
1. -20s CD
2. +30 damage
3. Radius of tendril increased
Ability 2:
Dark Blessings:
The messiah “shares” any passive stat bonus he is currently receiving to a selected ally or minion (movespeed, lifesteal, etc). Perhaps if it’s not too overpowered, he/she could also “bless” an enemy Hero with their stats (slow down their hard carry seven with slow movespeed, base firing rate, etc).
25s CD. 5 second duration.
“Targeting any Ally/Enemy Hero imbue your current (including passive item adjusted) movespeed, bullet resist, spirit resist, and stamina to target.”
1. +4s duration.
2. Affected target shares dark blessing target with nearest allied Hero or minion.
3. When Enemy targeted, apply base stats.
Ability 3:
Curse you!
The dark messiah throws a projectile consisting of randomized assortments of cursed items ranging from snakes (poison), charms (disable random ability), banana peel (struck enemies are stuck sliding in whichever direction they’re facing at the time) and possibly others.
30s CD. (Would take a bit of work to lay out all of the items, so I’ll leave that at concept. But outside of the usual stat debuffs I believe it’d be more fun to take advantage of the movement deadlock offers; banana peel, forced jump (trampoline item, think goofy TF2 stuff)
1. Item duration (stat debuffs) increased by 4 seconds
2. Movement trap items 25% more likely to be chosen
3. -15s CD
Ability 4:
Thunder God
The entity emerges completely for a few seconds causing absolute havoc. For a few moments the player is able to send out powerful horizontal waves of electric energy that also knocks back any struck enemy. The player initially rises up and slowly floats down in a vulnerable state despite this tremendous power and must choose their moment carefully. (Aka, team fight). - Functionally similar to Talon’s rain of arrows, but to compensate for disruptive ability this is not cancellable. Character is also enveloped in big electric aura that screams “kill me!” in a teamfight.
150 damage, 125 CD, 7 second duration
1. -35 CD
2. +100 damage
3. +4s duration
Default fire: Chucks fireballs at people with a ROF similar to Abrams. But you can give him/her a gun if it’d match better.
Flavor dialogue: “Gods walk among men. Well, I do anyway.”
