How about a hero like Grey Talon, an archer who stays far away shooting arrows but gains souls by killing enemy heroes, like Vindicta. I find Grey Talon's arrow-shooting gameplay fun. There could be more heroes of this genre, with diverse abilities, and I think a bounty hunter archer would be a fun hero.
Ability 1 would be the classic; it fires an arrow that pierces enemies, just like Grey Talon, but it would have some differences. It could leave the enemy marked or reduce their resistance, things like that.
Ability 2 could be a dog. You summon a dog that goes after your enemies and bites them, and it attacks the same target you're attacking, like McGinnis's turrets.
Ability 3 is a trap that immobilizes an enemy when it steps on it and causes bleeding.
Skill 4 could be a falcon, like the owl from Grey Talon, and when the falcon kills an enemy you gain additional souls like skill 4 from Vindicta.
