Introducing Drachen, a Steel Mill worker turned Fugitive on the run(framed for a crime he did not commit), who can turn into a huge dragon!

Hero Artwork(Drachen in his humanoid form). I might make art for his Dragon form later, maybe.

Also, I tried my best to create a good look for a dragon/human hybrid character, especially with the scales, so my apologies, if this looks super weird.

Lore
Drachen is one of many descendants of the mightiest dragons to have ever existed in the world. Most of them, like him, have remained largely in their humanoid forms in order to blend in with society, especially since the days long after the Maelstrom. He has made an honest living as a worker at a Steel Mill, providing for his family; a wife and two sons.

But now, he's a fugitive on the run.

It was late afternoon, and Drachen was in for overtime. It was supposed to be just another day at work, until he stumbled into a room filled with horrifically mutilated corpses.

It was a terrible sight, and the foul smell almost made him gag. As he tried to figure out what had led to such a massacre, the police arrived and, upon seeing him at the scene of such horrific crime, immediately believed that he was the one who did it.

Drachen left before the cops could apprehend him. Hiding from them in the dark alley ways, and after losing them, he took some time to think.

For a while he was pondering something; Why they believe that he was the one who did it? And how did they get there before anybody even knew what had happened in that room?

Then, it finally dawned on him: Someone had set him up. Framed him for the murders that had taken place in that room.

Now on the run from the law, with an arrest warrant set upon him, not helped by the sounds of police sirens that he would keep hearing almost all the time, Drachen sets out to find those responsible, bring them to justice and clear his own name.

With the tools he had found from a nearby shed and the powers of a mighty dragon, Drachen will blaze through the path to redemption. He will not rest until this whole mess is over, and then he can finally be with his family again.

Playstyle
Drachen plays like a spirit nuker - he blazes through the opposition with a flame-wreathed saw blade and a sledgehammer. If all else fails, he'll turn the tide by transforming into a huge, powerful dragon to unleash fiery destruction upon his enemies.

Back at it again with Backline Burst Heroes, here's the dragon-based hero, Drachen. Large portion of the character design is inspired by a character from Warhammer 40,000. That character happens to be Vulkan, Primarch of the Salamanders.

I had a hard time with drawing the character, especially with the dragon-esque features on him, but I tried my best, though.

His weapon, "Trial By Fire" is a Desert Eagle. I'm still not sure if any realistic weapons exist in Deadlock, let alone a weapon that wasn't made in 1950s, but at this point, I guess anything goes in a world of Deadlock.

His 1st skill has Drachen throw a flame-wreathed Saw blade. The design of this ability is indeed inspired by Hou Yi's 1st ability from Smite, and also the retrieval mechanic by Ah Muzen Cab(also from Smite). It's gone through some bit of brainstorming on it's stats, the ricochet count and bonus damage used to be higher, but toned them down, because anything higher than what it is now would've been very, very scary, because this thing is already quite dangerous in tighter areas of the map, at least in it's current state.

His 2nd skill is more of a defensive one: a passive that gets you defensive bonuses whenever you get hit by enemy hero's bullets, and active, the shockwave, which gets stronger with how many stacks you currently have from the passive. I'm not sure where I got the idea for the shockwave, but the passive does come from Dragon Knight's old version of his passive from the old days of Dota 2.

His 3rd skill, big sledgehammer, thrown with so much force that it's stunning. Inspiration for this came from Sven's Storm Hammer/Storm Bolt from Dota 2, BUT, with a little twist; only the first hit target takes full damage and stun, while enemies around that target take only half of the amount.

His Ultimate, where he turns into a dragon and starts wrecking things, I do believe the inspiration for how the dragon form works, comes from the character Imani from Paladins, Huge dragon flying, spewing fire and everything. I just remembered the Phoenix from Dota 2, when I made the Barrier and what would happen if it got destroyed during the transformation. I was largely unsure how much of the Barrier would be good at any given time, starting at 600, which I think should be good for early game, at least.

So yeah, lots of dragon stuff going on here. Do let me know what you think!

This is genuinely awesome. Love the passive (anything that fucks with haze players makes me happy) and the active component is a lot of fun. I really like the ricocheting sawblade, there is surprisingly little stuff in the game which bounces off the environment so its a good design space to explore i especially like having to pick it up. The ult is just amazing, a flying dragon which reigns down hellfire just sounds so cathartic to use like pleeeeaaase yoshi please

Yeah, I do feel like Deadlock needed a dragon, so this would fit the bill. I really am hoping this will be added to the game.

Also, I know I wrote that the dragon form would be huge, but I'm still not entirely sure on what the actual size would be. Although I would like to believe that Drachen's dragon form would be just SLIGHTLY bigger than Alduin(at least his in-game model) from Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.

Despite having done some research on dragon sizes, I was still left hella confused, because all the size charts for dragons seem to differ wildly across different media.

Alterations made to the 1st Ability, 'Flaming Buzzsaw'. I felt that the high damage and burn seemed a little too easy to achieve, so I thought of changing the functions of the ability somewhat, in hopes of making it more rewarding.

I thought I'd try with a charge-based system similar to those of Paradox's 3, Sinclair's 1, Vindicta's ult and Yamato's 1(leaning more towards the latter, but being able to move, jump and dash freely while charging).

So, here's the end result. I don't know if there are any other ways of doing it, but this is what I was able to come up with. I also made some stat changes and upgrade changes along the way, too.
