Here’s a spontaneous idea of mine, inspired by the fact that both *Dota 2* and *League of Legends*, along with other MOBA games, have a character based on Sun Wukong. Naturally, transferring this character directly into our game wouldn’t align well with its storyline, so I’m only offering some skill concept suggestions.
Left Click: Swings the staff side to side, releasing bursts of energy. The frontal motion can block a portion of incoming projectiles.
Right Click: Consumes more ammo to smash the staff forward, extending its length and dealing damage in a straight line to enemies in its path.
Ability 1 - Cloud Somersault: Summon the Nimbus Cloud, which acts similarly to a flying carpet, allowing attacks and ability use from above.
Ability 2 - Clone Technique: Creates multiple clones. Clones can only perform left-click attacks and behave like minions with simple AI.
Ability 3 - Circle of Confinement: Temporarily increases movement speed and grants a shield, but disables attacks. While moving, the Monkey King leaves a trail, and if it forms a complete circle, the speed and shield effects end. Enemies and allies outside the circle cannot enter or interfere with those inside, and vice versa, though the Monkey King and his clones are unrestricted.
Ability 4 - Transformation to the Giant: Transforms into the legendary Giant form for a limited time, significantly boosting attack power and defense, with unlimited stamina. While in this form, the Monkey King can only perform powerful two-handed smashes that cannot be blocked.
I want to incorporate the Seventy-Two Transformations but haven’t come up with solid ideas. Here’s what I’ve tried:
The transformations are triggered as secondary casts of each ability.
Secondary Cast of Ability 1: Transforms into a small bird with a relatively long transformation duration, allowing flight and movement.
Secondary Cast of Ability 2: Transforms into an inanimate object, such as a box, golden statue, or tree, with a long transformation duration and the ability to move.
Secondary Cast of Ability 3: Transforms into a stone statue with a very short duration, significantly boosting defense but unable to perform any actions.
Secondary Cast of Ability 4: Transforms into a mist that distorts enemies’ vision; enemies within the mist must hit specific parts to deal damage.
