Hello everyone!
I have been a huge fan of the game and love what the devs are already cooking. Here are a few ideas I had as potential hero designs, mostly their aesthetics, backstory and general theme for the time being.

I have been a huge fan of the game and love what the devs are already cooking. Here are a few ideas I had as potential hero designs, mostly their aesthetics, backstory and general theme for the time being.
#1 Fur Trader turned Shaman-Druid
Ever attuned to the untamed wilderness, abandoned his trade after witnessing relentless destruction of the forests he cherished. Unwavering in his quest to maintain harmony, he channels the inexorable wrath of nature.
- Intro
- Born on the fringes of old-growth forests, originally a fur trader/ranger by profession.
- Displayed an uncanny connection to the natural world from an early age; spirits and visions spoke to him in dreams.
- Disillusioned by rampant industrialization, he abandoned his trade to protect the wild.
- Transitioned into shamanism/druidry: channels the energy of nature and/or spirits.
- Appearance
- A mix of his old ranger heritage and the mysticism of a druid/shaman, not garbed in robes per se but a harmonious blend of the urban and the wild.
- Fit and agile, the strength of someone comfortable traversing the wilderness.
- Tied medium length tousled hair, tan from being outdoors often.
- Kit
- Bruiser, Secondary Support
- A hybrid musket + staff as primary weapon and conduit, nature motifs
- Concept
- Inspired by the typical ranger trope and put a spin on it. Rather than the archetypal ranger who focuses on sniping/traps, leaned towards a reason that emphasized the mystical nature side.
- I know a hero named Druid is already coming but I couldn't help but think of a concept around a nature focused hero even before knowing of their existence hehe.
#2 Aesthete Gentleman
Born into old-money dynasties, an art collector, salon wit, and benefactor of orchestras. Believing his use of magic to be utter refinement, he is a curator, a connoisseur of both art and the arcane, whose prowess in the battlefield is simply another performance.
- Intro
- Known publicly as a patron of the arts, a maestro, connoisseur of classical music, and witty salon figure.
- Believes magic is dangerous “vulgarity” when unrefined, his elegant methods is “purification”.
- Appearance
- Tailored coat, silk vest, high-collared shirt.
- Polished leather boots, gloves.
- Lean and fit, fencer's athleticism.
- Well-groomed parted brown hair, a faint mustache, high cheekbones.
- Kit
- Control, Disabler, Silencer
- An ornate revolver/cane hiding a rapier as primary weapon
- Concept
- Inspired by classical music and art in general, dandy caricature.
- He could simply be a disabling/anti-mage archetype with his theme revolving around conducting, orchestral, symphonies, gothic elegance but sinister, I imagine an aesthetic of violet flames, eyes in the dark etc.
- To take it a step further, I also thought of a kit with two equally viable forms and switching between them reflecting the prowess needed to play him (i.e. player themselves being a maestro) .
- Form 1 revolves around glamor, elegance, mobility, support.
- Form 2 revolves around being sinister, silence, disabling.
- His lines for Form 1 with support toward allies could be condescending (e.g. “Even amateurs can be guided toward greatness.”)
#3 Symbiotic Scientist
Rumors speak of a noxious presence in the streets who quells dissent with corrosive fumes and pestilence. Though many deem them monstrous, they see themselves merely as a scholar of life’s most dangerous secrets—curious, meticulous, and utterly uncompromising.
- Intro
- Began as a promising field naturalist, cataloguing animals and plants in expeditions through forests and deserts.
- Fascinated by the mechanisms of life , grew particularly interested toward toxic plants, animals, fungi etc.
- Led to self-experimentation in bid of symbiosis with such lifeforms/one such form of life (bugs, fungi etc).
- Disowned by peers for unconventional methods, but never truly insane; simply operates outside traditional ethics and social norms.
- Appearance
- Lab / naturalist’s coat, now stained and frayed from chemicals.
- Surgical gloves, vials and concoctions, contraption to potentially harness creepy critters.
- Jet black hair, face concealed by a plague doctor mask.
- Kit
- Area denial, Damage over Time (DoT)
- Syringe gun and vials as primary weapons, control of swarms, toxic mists/pools
- Concept
- Inspired by naturalist's scientific expeditions IRL, a dark twist on the idealist urban druid trope above, classic mad scientist archetype.
- Current set of heroes does not quite scratch the itch of a toxin/symbiotic focused trope, here leaning more strongly toward it being a primary part of the kit.
