After Valter, I had another one rattle around in my skull, and in the last couple of days she finally took real shape. I just had the idea of what happens if you take some traditional ancient sorceress and put her into modern fantasy. Think Big Trouble in Little China if Lo Pan didn't need some bizarre ritual to regain power, but just ate your soul instead.
Base Character:

Weapon:

Life is weird. First you're a shaman's apprentice learning forbidden techniques behind your master's back to help your town's drought, next you're getting stabbed by a nosy Fangxiang for all those bodies you drained of life. Such is the existence of Yao Shi. Not her original name, but it was far more fitting than what she used to be called. Perhaps that was what brought the exorcists down on her. Or maybe it was the trail of corpses she left behind to expand her magical potential. Either or. Any case, she would have spent the next hundred thousand years trapped in that box; but life is weird.
Her box was smuggled over, stored away in the Waterfront while less than legal entrepreneurs haggled the price of her prison. A fight broke out, a night watchman investigated the disturbance. Then stray shot broke her seal, and Yao Shi was awoken several millenia early. A drab warehouse of the Cursed Apple was very different from her palatial estate in Guangdong, but the smugglers and the watchman were very generous in helping her acclimate. Once disposed of their bodies, she reflected on the knowledge she had pulled from their minds. Far from home, asleep for centuries, and the Maelstrom making her magic far easier to come by. Such a wonderful and terrible new reality, and Yao Shi was determined to carve her own piece out of it all.
But first things first. She needed a new source of power. The patrons and their ritual? They would be...adequate.
Playstyle:
Risk and Reward area control fighter. She punishes you for being out of position, simply so when you get into position she punishes you even harder. Yaoshi is rather squishy, even with her iron-dog mount, but when she's close enough to hit, that's when she's close enough to really hurt you too...
Character:
Yao Shi rides an iron statue bought to life thanks to the soul of some watchman she trapped inside it. Above her head, four handguns hover, firing in quick succession at whatever target she points to. Carrying about 40-something rounds between them all, she reloads them by twirling the weapons around her hand, and using manipulative Qi control to replenish the cartridges with 魂弾, or 'Soul Bullets'.
Dialogue:
Yao Shi may have absorbed the knowledge of other languages from her victims, but she's still comfortable with her native tongue. When she speaks, it will sound old, possibly poetic. Her grammar will be in the style of Classical Chinese, but when flustered she'll stop bothering with English translations and go back to cursing you in old Ming.
For example, if fighting alongside Abrams, she would say: "The book is interesting. I will take it."
But if fighting against him, she'd start cussing him out. "汝空空頭暴!"(You empty-headed brute!")

I still can't make balance to save my life, so the abilities are more to showcase how she'd play rather than making a balanced character. Changes or recommendations to her stats are welcome

A Fate’s Tale:"Sleeping peacefully in mountain woods,
Dreams were soft with bird song.
Awakening to iron city shadows,
Clamor drowns my quiet heart."
