Primary fire: Force Majeure - A constant stream of ticker tape from the supernatural market. Functions like bebop’s primary fire but increases in damage the longer it is fired.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unseen and unrespected, ledger clerk Midas Othonos was once a cog in the wheel of Fairfax Industries. When he overheard that one of Fairfax’s researchers discovered a small astral gate in a mine, he took immediate interest. Personally visiting the mine after dark, he attempted communication. He tossed a rock into the gate. No response. A coin. No response. A single piece of ticker tape. Back came the tape with one word inscribed on the blank side:
Invest.
Maximillian Fairfax tried for days to see if the astral gate was useful at all, keeping its existence hidden from the public. Skeptical of investing like the gate told him to, Midas remained conflicted until Fairfax decided that the gate was a liability and needed to be destroyed. Midas knew it was his one chance of escaping mediocrity under Fairfax Industries.
Returning to the gate with more ticker tape, he tossed in slip after slip until finally, the gate responded once more to a stock that Midas had never seen in his life: VT. He sold every asset he owned and poured it into the mysterious stock. He lost his job and signed away his house. Days passed and the stock had no change. Midas was homeless on the streets of New York and started to doubt that he would ever get a profit.
With the advent of the maelstrom, however, souls began to pour into Midas’ possession. His investment had paid off, and he became intoxicated with his sudden influence and rise to power in the newly forming spiritual market.
Driven by his newfound insatiable greed, Midas seeks to expand his wealth and take over not only the supernatural market, but the physical one too, and surpass Fairfax to prove that he’s more than just a name on a payroll.

Maybe he could be the owner of the Curiosity Catalogue (the supplier of spirit items in-game) and be a competitor to Fairfax Industries?
