Weapon: "La Pastora" - Explosive projectile weapon. Is a sword. Cid swings his blade and launches small shockwaves.
1 - Shadow Shockwave - Maqui imbues his blade with dark magic and swings it, launching an extremely fast projectile. Any close enemies are stunned, knocked back and take damage. Souls confirmed with the projectile are worth 1.5x more.
2 - Black Spire - Raise a shadow pillar from the ground that shoots into the sky in the location you are looking at. Can confirm souls.
3 - Bleak Mantle - Maqui damages and slows all enemies in a cone in front of him, using his shadow cape. Steals all target's unconfirmed souls (each target grants 5 Waste stacks).
4 - Waste - Gains one stack with every soul confirmed. Each stack grants +10 damage. Let your despair flow, instantly creating a large explosion around yourself, damaging any and all enemies in its radius.
"Maqui" (real name Cid) is a hero of Spanish origin. An extremely distant relative of Warden, he comes from a lineage of valiant knights and heroes who stayed in Europe as opposed to migrating to America. He is a protector, defending a small settlement of refugees from various parts of Spain who wished to escape from the horrors of war.
When magic and the occult were revealed to the world at large, a lot was revealed. What innovations lied beyond the thin veil; What stories could be written; How much mankind could truly be wicked. As opposed to many other conflicts, the Spanish Civil War could not be stopped in time, and the occult has prolonged it into a bloody and deadly stalemate. Entire towns reduced to chalk outlines; Peasants controlled via blood magics to march like toy soldiers; Meaningless brutality out of sheer malice and hatred for the other side; Such bloodshed had (and shouldn't have) never been spilt on this plane of existence.
While his lineage's dark arts and preparations to stage off a mystic apocalypse have managed to hold both sides back from a neutral settlement, Cid is slowly realizing he is not prepared. Not prepared for what horrors may be unleashed with the newly discovered seventh Astral Gate in the Asturias; Knowing the outcome of either side awakening it would be bloody, Cid had made the harsh and tough decision to freeze his community in place via a ritual, and then to travel to New York in hopes of wishing for the Patrons to annihilate the Astral Gate.
They call him a "traitor"; They call him "Maqui"; He care not. When he shuts them down, they will all pay for their carnage. ALL OF THEM.
