The stories of cursed living dolls are as old as their invention.
Ann was aware of their surroundings long before the first maelstrom those memories are foggy and confusing only moments in a long sea of black, but when the first Maelstrom occurred Ann finally awoke completely, and she awoke as a families beloved Heirloom doll passed from one generation to another, being cared for and loved for decades.
At first Ann was happy to still be their beloved doll, to be their companion and plaything, but it only took 3 decades to that to erode , even tho their body did not change their mind did, at that point they were tired of being dressed up, to be talked to as a child and to be unable to do anything by themselves due to their miniature body.
So they took it upon themselves to become more, leaving the household they were trapped in and going to the Cursed Apple in there they found a puppeteer of strange appearance that offered to make a body for them as long as Ann worked for him, as hes enforcer, turns out being in the puppet business is more violent that one might think, Ann accepted and their mind was transferred to a body made to their liking.
A of now Ann works under the puppeteer as hes one Doll Army, but even after that, Ann was not satisfied, they were still someones play thing, so now Ann takes part in the ritual to wish to cut all strings that the puppeteer has on them, to finally claim true liberty once and for all
