Hero Concept: '2D' Shadow Hero

Inspired by season 1 episode 2 of Courage the Cowardly Dog (shadow antagonist)

Also inspired by that 2D/3D shooter - Strinova

kinda like Paper Mario

Could be a painter hero



1 - shadow bolts?

slow travelling shadow bolt.

2 states.

when in the 3D space/state the shadow bolt has 2 projectiles the 3D bolt and 2D shadow projection and can hit different targets dealing scaling spirit damage.

when in the 2D space/state the shadow bolt only shoots the 2D projection but shoots 2 bolts dealing bonus damage.



2 - '2D' Shadow projection

charges.

Projects self as a 'material/decal' shadow onto the 2D plane/wall, bullets and abilities also become '2D'/projected through the walls/floors.

Like Mo & Kill but also can travel up walls and shoot - but not increased resistances.

When in the 2D shadow form, the shadow of the gun would shoot a 2D bullets that would travel on the floor/wall instead of the 3D space.

Perhaps, the shadow can shoot/use abilities or target enemies' shadow for damage or targetting.

when damaging a shadow target instead of the normal target deal more % damage.

Alt-cast on allies or enemies to put them or pull them from the 2D projection.


3 - throw shadow shape

channel for a short duration to charge up this ability.
then throw a shape depending on the tick that of the channel.
the shapes have different abilities.

tick 0 - throw point / dot - instant nuke/ spirit damage

tick 1 - throw circle / sphere - root/leash

tick 2 - throw digon / 3D digon (???) - dot

tick 3 - throw triangle / pryamid - ROOT

tick 4 - throw square / sphere - CAGE

tick 5 - throw pentagon / 3d pentagonal prism - STUNS

tick 6 - throw hexagon / 3d hexagonal prism - HEXS



4 - 2D in 3D

charge-based ability.

target an enemy or ally or self-cast to put change the model into a 2D flat paper model in the 3D space.

target an 2D flat paper model enemy or 2D flat paper model ally to put them onto the 2D projection through a projectile that pushes them into the wall or floor.
 
gun:

LMB - shoots but the bullets shadow also is a projectile and deals damage to either enemy shadows or targets.

RMB - shoot bullets that can burrow into 2D and jump out into 3D. (from 3D into 2D out).

when in 2D shadow mode, the bullets are both 2D.

RMB shoots the bullets from 2D into 3D.

basically wall-banging/wall-piercing bullets but only on RMB.

can be used to shoot at enemies' shadow for bonus spirit damage on hit.
 
3 alt-cast:

lets the user cast the opposite shape depending on what state they are in.

2D state throws shapes from 2D space into 3D shapes

3D state throws shapes from 3D space into 2D shapes
