Heavy Abuse of Communication report system leading to unjustified bans

In almost every match I am put on the same team with people who are completely incapable of team play and the result is always the same - Loss. Then when you try to tell them that we should play as a team towards the object, these brats report you for communication.. It is incomprehensible that I have received several communication bans because some brat just can't stand to take instructions even though his stats are like 0 - 11.. And I get a communication ban when I try to tell them to play as a team and not feed the enemy.. Incomprehensible. I understand that stats aren't always a measure of skill, as baiting your own teammates often leads to negative stats to whom is being baited. But having played a lot of MOBAs, I know what I'm talking about.

The communication report system is abused a lot. If you say something that someone doesn't like, they'll report you for no good reason. The sensitivity of communication bans also increases after you've gotten a few bans, so you'll get bans for fewer reports (and for longer). The whole system is completely broken when it comes to communication bans.

Most of the false bans are simply because the system is abused and it's way too sensitive to give out bans. I've had a couple of legitimate bans and even more false communication bans.

If you simply ask a player to play as a team, defend a lane, come with you into a fight, or simply give advice, it's very likely that you'll get a communication ban. I just got a 15 day ban for simply telling my teammate "STOP BAITING YOUR TEAMMATES AND JOIN FIGHT". This is a false 15 day communication ban (no way to appeal and cant play as a team because im unable to communicate)...

The system is clearly being abused really badly and it makes the game really bad, because when you get the wrong communication ban, it is impossible to communicate. You practically lose every match to an enemy who can communicate and play as a team.

The game developers need to fix this problem as soon as possible. This is really annoying and is also partly due to the bad matchmaking system that puts you on teams with little rascals who have no sense of team play and cant take simple advice (usually these are they guys with stats like 0 - 11)
Personally, I've been banned from communication too many times for no real reason. If I tell a teammate "Stop Feeding", "Play as a team", "Listen comms", "Stop baiting ur own teammates", "Don't leave fight so early" Or stating in the end of a game "What a bot team i had" - i get communication ban? I don't think these messages are really offensive or a reason for a ban? Is this new GEN-Z really so sensitive that i cant say these things?

There's option to mute players in the game so why is this system so sensitive to give unreasonable bans?

I admit that part of the reason is that when I played random lobbies, my rank dropped A LOT because of bad teammates, and I can't always stand playing with low rank players and often make the above comments. But i still don't think the above comments are offensive.

I would request that an option for the desired communication method such as VOICE or CHAT/PING be added to matchmaking. This way we can separate those who are actually communicating via mic from those who are abusing the communication report system when they just hear someone using voice chat.

you have shown your own hand here with your examples lol. comms don't have to be offensive to be toxic. calling your own team bots and feeders, no matter how correct it is, is still toxic. it's like calling someone stupid but saying "ermm but i'm smarter, so it's actually not an insult but a fact!" - you're just being a nerd bro. the system isn't perfect, there are lot of reports of people being comms banned while not even saying anything. but in this case the system is working as intended.

also i'm curious to know what other mobas you're playing because dota's bans feel way harsher with the conduct system. if you were having any problems there you should have definitley anticipated having the same problems here.

Buddy, the system is working as intended. I think this post made a great showcase of that point, you made this whole thing just to complain that people find you annoying, and gave examples of you being annoying as fuck, and then go "Oh but I'm just a lil guy, I don't say slurs, why am I getting banned". You got a ban because no one wants to hear that. Not a single person.

Wow, what answers.

If someone takes the above comments as an insult and thinks that's a reason to give a Communication ban, then maybe you should look in the mirror and ask yourself, "why am I so sensitive?"

Answer to your question 11O11 = No, I haven't experienced anything like that in any other game. This is the only one where I've experienced that just asking for help on Lane like "Need help in Lane blue, Get out of jungle Infernus i need you here" - And suddenly im comm banned and thats all i said in the whole game.

So no. The system isn't working as intended. I wanted to bring out in this post the "nastiest comments" I've said, which I don't think are at all nasty or cause a reason to give a Communication ban. If you really claim that the system works as it should and isn't being abused severely, you're completely wrong. I have witnessed many times when a premade lobby reports a single enemy team member who literally says nothing the entire game, then that person have received a communication ban. This literally happened to my friend while we had comms trough DISCORD. Without using any in-game voice/chat.

If you can't even have a constructive conversation, ask for help from the team, strategize, or try to get the team to play as a team without getting a communication ban without being mean, then yes, there is something really wrong with the system.

That comment in the post "what a bot team i had" is one example. That was the only thing I wrote in the chat the entire game and I received a communication ban.

Either you have a reading comprehension problem, or you are one of those people who reports everyone who even says "hi" in voice chat. I have plenty of examples on this subject. I have close to 1000 hours in the game. I have never encountered such abuse of the report system in any game.

This all started as soon as I stopped playing in PREMADE lobbies and started trying random lobbies because my RANK dropped from ORACLE -> ARCHON in a couple of days due to a five-game losing streak. (which is also completely incomprehensible.) This was couple weeks after the SHOP UPDATE.

I've been playing competitively for a long time, and constructive feedback and team play are completely normal for me. It's obviously a big mistake to assume that you can communicate normally in this game at all without fear of getting a communication ban. What stands out here is that I have never been toxic at any point, I have not called players names, I have not cursed, I have not called anyone a bad player. The fact that I once stated at the end of a game that my team was a bot because I was the only player on the team with a KD plus and the highest amount of Damage in the entire lobby, is a completely normal statement in my opinion. I guess I'm just older and more understanding of normal team game "language" and constructive feedback. Maybe this game is intended for younger Gen-z groups who don't have this skill and understanding, or maybe the ability/will to develop in the game. I understand that many people just want to play for fun and can't stand listening to strategy, but in these cases there is no need to Report on communication. Then you can mute the player.

I answered your question. I hope you will be a little more understanding when you read the answer. I understand your argument if you are really so sensitive that you take those above-mentioned comments as toxic. However, they are not a reason to ban communication. Not at all.

I'm completely on the side of the author of the post.

I've gotten communication bans myself even though I've used the in-game voice communication between myself and my friend. Completely without talking to others. (If you're wondering why we didn't use external communication like teamspeak or discrod. My friend's computer is so bad that he doesn't want to add more process load..)

I've also gotten a communication ban for just normal "teamplay language" speech like you mentioned in that one post.

I was just coming to write and ask here on the forums why I've already gotten another communication ban even though I haven't been toxic, cursed, called names or anything like that. Just talked (or tried to talk) to my teammates so we could win the game. Completely normally without being mean.

I completely agree that the communication report system is being misused/abused, and a lot. Apparently those who argue against it are the players who don't understand that communication is an important tool for winning games and maintaining team play and they personally don't really communicate (i guess?). And probably the same ones who report others just for using in-game voice chat? Idk

Of course, many people play just to have fun, but if someone's voice is not to your liking, then you shouldn't report the communication, but silence the player. The system is broken. I can attest that from personal experience. As can many of my friends who have made the mistake of using the in-game voice chat.

You literally missed this guys point on the post.. -.-

You obviously don't talk to your team normally to win games? You're not a competitive player, you just play for fun? You're one of those people who immediately reports that you just don't like the sound of their voice? I think pickleonmilk is absolutely right. The Communication reporting in the game is really badly misused. I understand that if you've never played on a team, competitively, or played games to win them, then you certainly can't understand the importance of communication.

People are just so sensitive these days...

It would help with this problem right away. If the game included the following matchmaking options:

Communication: VOICE or PING/CHAT (This way we would separate those who do not want voice communication from those who prefer voice communication.) Just like the publisher of this post mentioned.

Add a Casual game mode and a Competitive game mode. (This way we would differentiate between fun players and those who actually play to win and prefer team play.)

That's because the other games rely on a chat bot to do a sweep of your messages to figure out if you said any banned words. I got banned from Overwatch because I swear alot, which is just a cultural thing where I'm from. I didn't say anything offensive or was particularly toxic, but it's a bot that does the banning there. I got a warning in Apex legends for saying the word "asshole", which got flagged as, no joke, "sexual language".

Dota, CS and now Deadlock have a much more fun system which you can't game to dodge bans. If people don't want to hear you be annoying, you don't get to be annoying.
