I have a similar issue - I rebound dash to shift, and the default character profile for keybinds also has shift as the cancel ability button. If I rebind the "cancel ability" button for the grey talon keybind profile to something else, it still causes him to cancel flight when I press shift to dash. Changing the default keybind profile fixes the issue (dash button no longer cancels flight and allows GT to dash), but causes issues with all the other characters cancelling abilities. Seems as if GT keybind profile is not correctly overriding the default keybind settings.
