I placed the tomb at the exact moment of death. The tomb did not appear, but the ultimate still went on cooldown.
I understand that on many characters an ultimate may or may not go off depending on the exact frame when death occurs. It’s possible that I passed some kind of “point of no return” in this case. However, it feels like this should not happen with Graves’ ultimate. Even though the ability is not applied instantly, it does not seem to have an actual cast duration (and cast duration modifiers do not affect the time it takes to place the tomb).
