Yamato bomb, shotguns, splitshot, melee abilities, viscous alt fire, Grey Talon Rain of Arrows, none of it can hit the skulls, only a direct impact from the center of the crosshair counts and even then that's not reliable.
Graves' skulls can't be hit by AoE
