Graphics slowdown when I play, but not when I spectate

As per the title; when playing I get quite noticeable graphics slowdown during fights, but the game runs super smooth if I am spectating a big fight while waiting to respawn. I've tried all sorts of graphics settings with no remedy as yet.

Has anyone else experienced this? Cheers!
